Hi,

I having trouble collecting this variable from the router.

My data collection is like this:

   <group name="Nokia-ifTable" ifType="all">
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifSpeed" type="gauge32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifInOctets" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.11" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifInUcastPkts" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.13" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifInDiscards" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.14" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifInErrors" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.15" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifInUnknownProtos" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifOutOctets" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.17" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifOutUcastPkts" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.19" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifOutDiscards" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.20" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifOutErrors" type="counter32"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.2" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifInMulticastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.3" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifInBroadcastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.4" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifOutMulticastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.5" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifOutBroadcastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCInOctets" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.7" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCInUcastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.8" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCInMulticastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.9" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCInBroadcastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCOutOctets" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.11" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCOutUcastPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.12" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCOutMulticasPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.13" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHCOutBroadcasPkts" type="counter64"/>
      <mibObj oid=".1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.15" instance="Nokia-ifEntry" alias="ifHighSpeed" type="gauge32"/>
   </group>

My problem is that the value from the snmp walk and the value from the JRB file are not the same.

In the JRB I have an negative number: -9651.0

In the SNMP walk : IF-MIB::ifHCInBroadcastPkts.3 = Counter64: 18446744073709541956

I suspect that the counter64 is not the best value here.

As anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks in advance.

are you running a different timing for the collection? If you do that without changing the rrd-definition you might get strange values in your rrds.
I didnĀ“t understand your answer. Can you please elaborate?
Are you collecting every 5 minutes?
If you have changed the frequency of the collection, you have to make sure the jrbs are created with the same timing in place.
Thank you for the reply.
Everything seems OK with the creation of jrb files.
