Cron schedule necessary?

I'm using the provisiond for importing VMware hosts to OpenNMS. I have 6 hosts and they are successfully added. Is the cron-schedule tag still necessary?

I am using SVN to manage my configs and this cron job changes regulary the requisiton file. It's just a timestamp, but with every commit I add this "changed" requisition file to my svn repository.

The schedule is necessary, the schedule takes care to resync your vCenter with OpenNMS. So if you create new or delete virtual machines, they will be synchronized with your OpenNMS. If you don't have a lot fluctuation, you can create a schedule which runs just once a month. The schedule depends on how many chances you have in your virtual environment over time.
