Events should be placed here: /opt/opennms/etc/events

with a reference in /opt/opennms/etc/eventconf (see EOF)

Datacollections here: /opt/opennms/etc/datacollection

with a reference in: /opt/opennms/datacollection-configuration.xml

The collected data from your datacollection are here: /opt/opennms/share/rrd/snmp/NODEID. Here you can look, if your datacollection-config has collected data (rrd files)

Ahhh. you meant NRT graphs, correct? Then my answer isn't your solution...
Did your read: http://www.opennms.org/wiki/NRTG ?
Thank you for answering but i am only familiar with the Web console user interface of the open NMS & i am not getting "/opt/opennms/etc/datacollection" ," /opt/opennms/datacollection-configuration.xml" &  "/opt/opennms/share/rrd/snmp/NODEID" which you have mentioned how to go to these links. Please Sir  would you  elaborate the method to find these files on the web console
Home / Admin / Manage Events Configuration
Home / Admin / Manage SNMP Collections and Data Collection Groups

But did you mean NRT graphs?
yeah correct actually i am not getting the NRT graphs if i try to open the NRT graph the link gets opened but no graph gets displayed over it & one more thing apart from the graph i also need the numeric data form the node via snmp service can you please tell me where can i see the actual numeric data..?
folder with IP instead of ID
