Is it possible to set <severity> dynamically based on a value received in SNMP-Trap ?

+1 vote
The severity is defined inside xy.events.xml - files like this: <severity>Normal</severity>

My system, from which I will receive Traps, is sending the severity dynamically as a numeric value like 70 or 80 or 90 (examples).

My Question: is it possible to change these values like 70 into a severity like "Major" ?

And, if it´s possible: how can I handle this?

Hi Fred,
one solution could be the correlation engine: http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Drools_Correlation_Engine
Markus Schneider's talk is really great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkFs4soXeOA
