We are at a stage, where we are testing different solutions to monitor our environment, and opennms is a strong candidate. We are however facing an issue on one of our test setups (an identical test setup running on a different sever running Centos 7 is not exhibiting this issue). The failing setup in running on an Ubuntu 17 Machine
Basically the ubuntu setup works fine, except for snmp data collection on a remote (aws) machine, and fails with the following error :-
The Node with Id: 8; ForeignSource: Amazon Cloud Test Servers; ForeignId:1506350252807 has aborted for the following reason: Aborting node scan : Agent failed while scanning the system table: org.opennms.core.rpc.api.RequestTimedOutException: org.apache.camel.ExchangeTimedOutException: The OUT message was not received within: 20000 millis due reply message with correlationID: Camel-ID-opennms-xxxx-com-42317-1506364578595-0-4780 not received on destination: temp-queue://ID:opennms.xxxxi.com-42621-1506364572124-4:13:1. snmpwalk from the "failing" opennms machine to the above server works fine (or at least returns data which appears fine), and the same exact server is being monitored on another opennms installation on a Centos 7 without any issues.
The "failing" opennms server has also discovered and works fine with a local pfsense (bsd) machine, so snmp seems to work, but also refuses to work with a local cisco accesspoint (same error), while snmpwalk gets data from the ap without issues.
I have been looking at forum posts, but I am now a bit at a loss. Would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance
