Can you embed username/password directly into the dashboard url?

I have a large tv with a variety of sources, including an opennms dashboard. It's all generally automated except for opennms, I have to login with a username and password. Is it possible at all to embed the credentials into the url. I've tried a few random combinations I found on the web with zero success.

Hi, sorry it is not possible to add username and password in an URL, cause it would be transferred over the wire with every GET request and by default, just HTTP is used. You can have a look at some Firefox plugins to ensure your session keeps alive once you are logged in. Something like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/session-keeper/

I've found also something to auto login here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/the-idle-login/?src=search

I haven't tried them out, hope this helps
