Custom SNMP query to monitor Cisco Stack Member status

I am trying to set ONMS up to poll stacks of Cisco 3750 switches and check the status of each switch in the stack to make sure it is up and working. This can be done by using the OID of .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.500.1.2.1.1.6 and each stack member has a related numeric value between 1 and 9 with 4 being the preferred value. I would like to have an event created or an outage created if a stack member is something other than a 4. Is there any (recent) documentation available that would be able to help me do this?

Hi, you have to create a SNMP monitor. You can give it a service name like "Cisco-Stack-Status". The documentation you need can be found here: http://docs.opennms.org/opennms/releases/19.0.1/guide-admin/guide-admin.html#_snmpmonitor

You can have to add the OID and the operator (=) and operand (4) to check for a value which means UP and represents the status normal for you.

Hope this helps
